Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) Examinations: 

MMed Exams (Programme A) 
For Programme A candidates, the eligibility criteria for the MMed (FM) Examination are as follows

1 1 year of compulsory core skills posting (Core Skills)
(4 blocks of 3 months postings)
Accident and Emergency
Paediatrics or Paediatrics Accident & Emergency
Geriatrics Medicine
Psychiatry
2 6 Months Medicine Posting (Medicine)
(either 2 blocks of 3 months at any 2 of the listed or 1 block of 6 months posting in designated hospital department)

Internal Medicine
Endocrinology
Renal Medicine
Respiratory Medicine
Cardiology
Gastroenterology
Neurology
Rheumatology
Haemotology
Oncology
Family Medicine and Continuing Care
6 months posting that are accepted at the following designated hospital departments:

Alexandra Hospital -- General Medicine
Changi General Hospital -- Internal Medicine
National University Hospital -- General Medicine
Tan Tock Seng Hospital -- General Medicine

3 3 Months Surgery Posting (Surgery)
(one of the listed)
General Surgery
Orthopaedics
4 3 Months Electives (Electives)
(one of the listed)
Dermatology
Otolaryngology
Ophthalmology
Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Palliative Medicine
Community Hospital
5 1 year Polyclinic Posting; or
6 months Polyclinic Posting with 6 months of Optional postings from the above departments which the trainee has not been rotated to.
6 Satisfactory formative learning as reflected in the entries and reports in the MMed logbook
7 BCLS certification

Format of written assignments for taking exam in:

Year 2010 Year 2011 onwards
- 1 week Practice Profile - Practice diary of 50 cases
- 5 Case Commentaries - 1 Audit Project
- 1 Audit Project  

MMed Exams (Programme C)

For Programme C candidates, the eligibility criteria for the MMed (FM) Examination are as follows:

  1. Satisfactory completion of each posting. (Please refer to Programme C Course Overview for list of postings)
  2. Satisfactory completion of the modular course
  3. Satisfactory formative learning as reflected in the entries and reports in the MMed logbook
  4. Format of written assignments:
    • Practice diary of 50 cases
    • 1 Audit Project
  5. BCLS certification
